Thoughts of the Day- Fresh Air Friday November 6

What did we do today?

  • We went outside to the Whispering Woods and we looked at the woods as 4 different people/animals: as ourselves, as a dog, as a senior and as an early settler.
  • As ourselves: watched a woodpecker and chased a bunny; balanced on a fallen branch; avoided thorns; looked for trees to climb; heard the crunching of grass, birds tweeting, kids laughing and footsteps; could smell the fresh snow and the aroma of pancakes.
  • As a dog: saw sticks and bunny scat; felt rocks; the snow felt cold on my paws; felt thorny branches and saw long grass; saw dogs playing in the snow; found scissors, a broom and Hershey's wrappers; looked for bunny tracks; found stinky foam; fell in a hole; smelled dirt and an old feather; felt hot in the sun; felt the wet leaves; saw a mouse and a squirrel and felt a cold wind.
  • As a senior: was very hilly, slippery and gravelly; heard loud pesky children; blurry trees and grass; confusing pathways; it felt cold, windy and wet; saw sticks I could trip on; heard branches swaying; saw signs and bumpy bark; the walk was tiring after a while; and I saw a water bottle on the ground.
  • As an early settler: no water to be found; saw berries for paint, food and medicine; plants for medicine; bunny tracks; found sap for candles; saw trees and cut branches for a shelter; and animals for food and clothing.
