- Today was sports day! There was 11 stations to go through. They were tug-o-war, croquet with soccer balls, water sponge relay, parachute volleyball, kickball, three legged race, feed the cowboy, survey, rest station, pick up marbles with your toes and wheelbarrow race. The parachute volleyball was run by Ms. Jones and Ms. Pearson. On the way, we all got a 15 min certificate for free time which we can use next week or the week after. :)
- The volleyball station was kind of hard because you really had to work with your teammates to make sure you could throw and catch with the parachute. During the sponge race we had to hold the sponge using different parts of our bodies other than our hands, like between your elbows. In the croquet game, you had to kick a ball under a stick balanced on chairs and you had to keep track of how many times you kicked the ball. With the tug-o-war, we did team vs team, kids vs adults and individuals vs individuals. A few kid teams beat the adults!
- In the wheelbarrow race, a lot of people fell over and a kinder held up a grade 2 student in one race! One team picked up 150 marbles!
What questions do we have after today?
- What was the most liked station?
- What were some of the different ways people held the sponges?
- How many of the stations will be at next year's sports day?
- Which team will win it next year....it was a TIE this year!
- Will we have another winter's sports day?
- What student got the most free time certificates?
- Which team in volleyball worked the best?
- Did Mrs. Polski count the points right?
- Which team in Feed the Cowboy got the most birdies?
